Everything you need to know about buying and selling auto parts on PitSwap. Still stuck? Contact our team.
PitSwap is an online marketplace for buying and selling automotive parts — new, used, OEM, aftermarket, and hard-to-find. It connects car enthusiasts, mechanics, and everyday drivers, with secure PayPal checkout, escrow protection, and shipping handled through the platform.
Almost any automotive part — engines, transmissions, body panels, interior trim, wheels, tires, electronics, and accessories — in conditions ranging from New to For Parts. Items must be automotive-related and comply with applicable laws. Listings include part numbers and compatibility details to help you find the right fit.
Yes. Creating an account and browsing or listing parts is free. Sellers on the Standard plan pay only a commission when an item sells — no listing fees and no monthly fees. PitSwap Pro is an optional paid plan that lowers the seller commission.
Every listing shows compatibility details, part numbers, and vehicle specifications. Check the year, make, model, trim, and engine carefully, and message the seller to confirm before buying. Buyers are responsible for verifying fitment unless the seller has explicitly guaranteed it in the listing description.
Checkout is processed securely through PayPal, so you can pay with your PayPal balance or any major credit or debit card. PitSwap never stores your card details. Your payment is held in escrow and only released to the seller after you receive your part.
Sellers grade each part as New, Like New, Good, Fair, or For Parts, and must disclose any wear, damage, or missing components in the description and photos. Read the condition notes and inspect the photos closely — they are the basis for a Buyer Protection claim if the item arrives not as described.
Yes. PitSwap Buyer Protection covers items that arrive not as described, don't match the listing photos, never arrive, or fail a fitment guarantee the seller explicitly made. Open a dispute within 7 days of confirming receipt (or 12 days of confirmed delivery) and our team will review the evidence.
Read the Buyer Protection Policy →Returns are handled through the dispute process under Buyer Protection rather than instant self-service returns. If an item is not as described, doesn't match its photos, or doesn't arrive, you may be eligible for a refund. Buyer's-remorse returns and parts that have already been installed are generally not covered.
Anyone — professional mechanics, auto shops, parts dealers, and enthusiasts with spare parts. Just create an account, add your PayPal payout email under Settings → Payouts, and start listing. There are no upfront or monthly fees on the Standard plan.
From your seller dashboard, choose Upload Item. Add clear photos of the actual part, a detailed description with part numbers and compatibility, the condition grade, and your price. Accurate photos and descriptions are required to qualify for Seller Protection. Most listings go live within minutes.
Sale funds are held in escrow and released to your PitSwap balance within 1 business day of the buyer confirming receipt — or automatically 5 days after delivery is confirmed if they don't respond. You then pay out your available balance to your PayPal account from the Payouts tab. Add your PayPal payout email under Settings → Payouts first.
On the free Standard plan, PitSwap charges a 7% commission per sale plus standard payment processing. PitSwap Pro lowers the commission to 3.5% for a flat monthly subscription. There are no listing or monthly fees on the Standard plan — you only pay when an item sells.
Yes. Sellers package and ship their own items, with discounted prepaid shipping labels and tracking available through PitSwap. To stay covered by Seller Protection, ship within 3 business days, pack securely, and upload tracking within 24 hours of dispatch.
PitSwap Pro is an optional monthly subscription for active sellers. It cuts the per-sale commission from 7% to 3.5%, so it pays for itself once you're selling regularly. You can upgrade or cancel anytime from your account settings.
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the seller and the items in your cart, with standard and expedited options shown before you pay. Delivery time depends on the carrier and destination. Tracking is provided for every order so you can follow your part from dispatch to delivery.
Sellers are responsible for packaging and dispatching orders using prepaid labels generated through PitSwap. They must ship within 3 business days and add tracking within 24 hours. If a tracked order never arrives, you're covered by Buyer Protection.
When you pay, PitSwap holds the funds in escrow instead of sending them straight to the seller. Funds are released once you confirm you've received your part — or automatically 5 days after confirmed delivery. If you open a dispute first, the money stays in escrow until it's resolved.
Contact us through the Contact form with your order ID, a description of the problem, and photo or video evidence. Submit within 7 days of confirming receipt, or 12 days of confirmed delivery. Our team reviews both sides and makes a final decision.
Contact support →Report it immediately through the dispute process. PitSwap reviews the evidence and, for valid claims, may issue a full or partial refund to your original payment method — typically within 5–10 business days. Buyers and sellers found committing fraud are suspended or banned and may be reported to law enforcement.
Seller Protection shields honest sellers from false "not as described" claims, fitment disputes they never guaranteed, chargeback fraud, and buyers who return the wrong item — provided listings are accurate and orders ship on time with tracking.
